Together with Oracle Red Bull Racing, Ford will return to the highest level of motorsport. Bill Ford, chairman of the board of Ford Motor Company, states that we will bring the company's long history of innovation, sustainability, and electrification to one of the most visible arenas.
Beginning in 2023, Ford and Red Bull Powertrains will collaborate on developing the engine package required by the new technical regulations. By the 2026 season, they must have a 350 kW electric motor and a combustion engine that runs on 100 percent sustainable fuel.
Ford's return to Formula 1 with Red Bull Racing reflects the company's future direction: increasingly electric, software-defined modern automobiles and experiences. Jim Farley, chief executive officer of Ford Motor Company, asserts that F1 will serve as a cost-effective platform for innovation, exchanging ideas and technology, and attracting tens of millions of new customers.
Ford will provide technical assistance in all areas that may bring value to the leading World Championship squad.
