The Jaguar F-TYPE has a 75-year history with some of the most famous sports cars ever made. As a coupe or a convertible, the Jaguar F-TYPE strikes the perfect balance between dynamic performance and driving pleasure. It has a robust and confident design, and the coupe is made of high-quality materials, is well-made, and has unique details.
Before the last year, which will be on the road in 2023, the lineup has become simpler and more focused, making it easier for customers to choose their perfect Jaguar F-TYPE. All models come with 20-inch wheels as standard, and small details like the center caps and front grill emblem have changed from red to black. The R and R-Dynamic badges' accent colors are now black and gray instead of red and green.
To mark the last year that the Jaguar F-TYPE will be made, customers can choose between the new F-TYPE 75 and F-TYPE R 75 special editions. These have unique interior and exterior design details, a long list of specs, and the F-supercharged TYPE's 5.0-liter Jaguar V8 engine. Before Jaguar becomes an all-electric modern luxury brand in 2025, these exclusive models are an excellent way to show how well the classic internal combustion engine works.
The Jaguar F-TYPE is the best sports car Jaguar has ever made, and it looks just as dramatic as it did 75 years ago. The powerful proportions of the front are immediately recognizable, and the body is made of light, rigid aluminum. The focused and confident presence of the car calls to mind the flowing shapes of Jaguar's long history of sports cars, which began with the XK120, the world's fastest production car, when it came out in 1948.
As part of the effort to make things easier for customers, every F-TYPE now comes with a model-specific 20-inch wheel as standard. The F-TYPE 75 and R 75 can be told apart by their gloss black 5-spoke and diamond-turned 10-spoke wheels, respectively.
The elegance and performance of the Jaguar F-TYPE sports car are shown in its interior, which is designed with the driver in mind. Traditional Jaguar craftsmanship, beautiful materials and details, and a high-quality finish give the car a strong sense of luxury and sportiness.
The cabin has a configurable, interactive 12.3-inch driver display that lets the driver choose from different visual themes. The standard mode, as befits a real sports car, has a large central tachometer.
This feature and the shift light subtly show the F-TYPE's personality and digitally enhance the mechanical expression, which can be seen in the pulsating red "heartbeat" of the start button and the pop-up center vents.
The Jaguar F-TYPE 75 and R 75 models stand out with their unique silhouette design and stainless steel door sills. The Black Pack interior design package is another option that adds a subtle touch.
F-TYPE continues to set the standard for sports cars that are really fun to drive and put the driver first. Front and rear double wishbone suspension, finely tuned Electric Power Steering (EPAS), and Toque Vectoring by Braking makes the car agile and responsive. These qualities make it possible for the vehicle to respond quickly and naturally to everything the driver does.
The chassis of the F-TYPE and R 75 are made even stronger by the fact that the rear wheel spindles are made of light, die-cast aluminum. This, along with the reinforced wheel bearings, gives the driver complete control over how the wheels move and how the tires touch the road, making the car feel more present. For the R 75, this key feature is improved by changing the upper ball joints, which makes the chassis much more stable. Both models also have an EAD (Electronic Active Differential) electronic active rear differential to improve grip on the wall.
All four-cylinder 300hp F-TYPE models have carefully tuned monotube dampers that give them unique driving characteristics. On the other hand, the F-TYPE 75 and R 75 have Jaguar's Adaptive Dynamics system, which lets you change how the car drives. Adaptive Dynamics uses electronically controlled, continuously variable dampers to improve both low-speed comfort and high-speed control. Configurable Dynamics enables the driver to change settings for suspension stiffness, steering weight, throttle response, and shifting.
All of the Jaguar F-TYPEs have 20-inch wheels that make them stand out. All of them have a standard design and three other finishes you can choose from, like forged wheels for the R 75. Fittingly, the R 75, which is the top performer in the F-TYPE line, has broader, specially made Pirelli P Zero tires (265/35/ZR20 in front and 305/30/ZR20 in back) that give it a lot of grips.
Jaguar's Carbon Ceramic Matrix (CCM) braking system can be added to the F-TYPE R 75. It has 398mm front and 380mm rear monoblock brake discs with a distinctive yellow finish, which gives the car excellent stopping power.
There are powerful and responsive four-cylinder and eight-cylinder engines in the F-TYPE. Their outputs range from 300PS to 575PS, the broadest range in the sports car market. They all have a Quickshift transmission with eight speeds and either a SportShift paddle shifter or paddle shifters on the steering wheel.
The 300-horsepower, 2.0-liter, four-cylinder, turbocharged Ingenium engine with exclusive rear-wheel drive makes its most torque as early as 1,500 rpm, giving it excellent throttle response all the way through the rev range. It also has the performance you'd expect from a Jaguar F-TYPE, going from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds and reaching a top speed of 250 km/h.
The 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine with 450 hp was made to be valuable and fun to drive. At 2,500 rpm, it can produce a maximum torque of 580 Nm. This engine can be found in the F-TYPE 75*, and you can choose between all-wheel drive with Intelligent Driveline Dynamics and rear-wheel drive for purists. Both have an electronic active rear differential to improve grip, and both can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 250 km/h.
The Jaguar F-TYPE R 75 gives a really great performance in all kinds of weather and on all sorts of roads. The model is only available with four-wheel drive. Its supercharged V8 engine has 575 hp and a torque of 700 Nm, which is very impressive. Only 3.5 seconds are needed to go from 0 to 100 km/h, and the top speed is electronically limited to 300 km/h.
Each engine has an active exhaust system that can be turned on and off. It keeps the unique sound that will always be associated with the Jaguar F-TYPE and is carefully tuned to fit the personality of each model. Particulate filters that work well help cut down on emissions.
Customers who choose a V8 get the Quiet Start feature, which gives the car a quieter, more refined sound when it starts up. This is done by keeping the bypass valves in the rear muffler closed until they automatically open when the car is under load, letting out the distinctive sound that is so important to the Jaguar F-The TYPE driving experience. If you don't want the Quiet Start feature to work, you can turn on the Dynamic Mode or press the switchable exhaust button before you start the engine.
First deliveries are set for the first quarter of 2023 when Jaguar will celebrate 75 years of making sports cars. This will be a turning point in the brand's history as it moves proudly toward an all-electric future in 2025.
