The popular mini car from Opel has been updated with a new look and more choices for electric driving. Opel Corsa, one of the best-selling city cars in Europe, has received a facelift for 2022. The German brand, which is part of the Stellantis group, has updated the exterior design, added new features, and expanded the range of electric variants for the Corsa.
The new Opel Corsa has a more expressive front end, with a redesigned grille and bumper that give it a sportier and more dynamic appearance. The LED headlights have also been improved with adaptive matrix technology that automatically adjusts the light beam to avoid dazzling other drivers. The rear lights have also been upgraded to LED units.
The interior of the Opel Corsa has also been refreshed, with new upholstery options, a redesigned center console, and a wireless charging pad for smartphones. The infotainment system has been enhanced with a 10-inch touchscreen display, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto compatibility. The driver assistance systems have also been updated, with features such as lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition, blind spot alert, and rear cross traffic alert.
But the Opel Corsa's most significant change is adding more electric options. The Opel Corsa-e, which was launched in 2019 as Opel's first electric car, now has two new variants: the Opel Corsa-e GS Line and the Opel Corsa-e Elegance. The former is a sporty version with black accents, 17-inch alloy wheels, and red brake calipers. The latter is a more luxurious version with chrome details, leather seats, and ambient lighting.
Both variants have the same electric powertrain as the existing Opel Corsa-e, which consists of a 50-kWh battery and a 100-kW (136-hp) electric motor. The battery can be charged up to 80 percent in 30 minutes using a fast charger. The electric range is rated at 209 miles (337 km) on the WLTP cycle.
