The electrification of the Peugeot lineup will be considerably accelerated in 2023. All new Peugeot cars will be available with electric motors beginning in the second half of 2023. Peugeot will have the most comprehensive range of electric vehicles in Europe, with numerous new models and technology. Peugeot will address all electromobility demands, from electric bicycles to vans and e-scooters to cars, taking another step toward supplying 100% electrically driven vehicles with zero emissions in Europe by 2030.
The launch of new hybrid powertrains, initially for the Peugeot 3008 and Peugeot 5008, in 2023 will broaden the technology offers. There are also new all-electric solutions for the Peugeot e-208 and e-308, as well as hydrogen fuel cells and plug-in hybrids with two and four wheels.
Peugeot will have an "electric year" in 2023, with new vehicles and technology available.
Peugeot will be the first Stellantis brand to offer the group's new generation of hybrid powertrains, emphasizing the company's commitment to providing electric mobility to as many people as possible.
This new generation of a hybrid powertrain, first introduced on the Peugeot 3008 and Peugeot 5008, and later on other vehicles in the range, combines efficiency and user-friendliness.
It is powered by a new-generation PureTech petrol engine producing 100 kW (136 horsepower) and is mated to a new electrified dual-clutch transmission. This technology provides more performance at low rpm, and 15% improved fuel economy thanks to a 48-volt battery that charges while driving. It also allows for emission-free driving in the city for up to 1 km at low speeds and over short distances.
The new hybrid Peugeot 3008 and Peugeot 5008 models are not yet available for purchase at the time of this announcement.
Peugeot's 100% electric model lineup will be enhanced in 2023 with the introduction of the new Peugeot e-308 and Peugeot e-308 SW. Peugeot will be among the first European automakers to produce a completely electric station wagon. Peugeot will address the needs of clients in the C segment who want to move to emission-free mobility with the sedan and station wagon.
Dynamism and driving pleasure are fundamental features of Peugeot. They were central to the development of these new models, which have a new and exceptionally strong 115 kW (156 hp) electric motor. The new Peugeot e-308 and e-308 SW also set new standards for electrical efficiency in C-segment electric cars. This performance results from advancements in the motor and battery, aerodynamics, weight minimization with the new EMP2 platform, and friction loss reduction.
Peugeot has confirmed the eventual arrival of the Peugeot e-408 in the C category, with plug-in hybrid versions of its dynamic and inventive fastback.
From the Peugeot e-208 to the Peugeot e-Traveler, including the Peugeot e-2008, Peugeot e-308, Peugeot e-308 SW, and Peugeot e-Rifter, the Peugeot e-408 completes the 100% electric Peugeot line.
The Peugeot e-208 is the forerunner in the 100% electric Peugeot line, and it will be improved further in 2023 with the new Peugeot e-308 engine. The Peugeot e-208's maximum power has been increased by 15%, from 100 kW/136 hp to 115 kW/156 hp.
The efficiency has also been improved and is now just 12 kWh/100 km, providing the Peugeot e-208 a 10.5 percent greater range, or 38 km more for a total range of 400 km 1 in the combined WLTP cycle 1 (subject to homologation).
The Peugeot e-208 is silent and vibration-free, with a torque of 260 Nm available from 0 km/h. It is simple to use and provides an optimal driving experience. This accentuates the dynamic attributes that have led to his success. However, it is also appropriate for peaceful everyday use. For example, a 100 kW fast charging station can charge the Peugeot e-208 from 20% to 80% in less than 25 minutes.
These features add to the success of the Peugeot e-208, which has been Europe's best-selling B-segment electric car since the beginning of 2022 and France's best-selling electric vehicle. Since its introduction in 2019, the Peugeot e-208 has sold around 110,000 units.
Peugeot has developed a particularly comprehensive plug-in hybrid range in order to provide an electromobility option that fits the needs of all users. These models, whether sedan, SW station wagon, or SUV, combine the performance and efficiency that have made Peugeot popular.
Peugeot is expanding its line of electric mobility solutions, including those for two-wheelers, and will debut the Peugeot e-Streetzone (not yet available for order) at the Paris Motor Show. It has a range of up to 112 kilometers in ECO mode and with two batteries.
The Peugeot e-Streetzone comes with one or two detachable batteries and can be charged fast and easily with any household plug. The Peugeot e-Streetzone is the ideal two-wheeler for city travel, thanks to its proven chassis and agility. It features a functional technology LCD panel. The variant with only one built-in battery features a compartment under the seat where a helmet can be stored.
Finally, Peugeot provides a comprehensive line of six electric scooters appropriate for various applications. This is true for daily city traffic and road and off-road travel.
