Most people in the bus business have said that travel is improving, and so has Vy bus4you. Now, the bus company says they are investing in the future, including a new bus that runs on liquid natural gas (LNG) and biogas.
The bus industry got its long-awaited revenge when the number of people taking buses went through the roof in the summer. New investments in the sector are one result of the continued good news. Today, Vy bus4you will show off their latest investment, a new long-distance bus that runs on liquefied natural gas (LNG) and biogas (LBG).
"As a market leader, we must also be a leader regarding the environment. So, it's a great idea to put money into this bus, which, among other things, runs on liquid biogas, which gives off 90% less pollution than diesel and is, therefore, one of the fuels that have the most negligible effect on the environment. It's exciting to start using this type of bus, which is made for long trips between Oslo and Stockholm. For our guests, it means a safe, comfortable, and even more sustainable journey," Zakaria Abna-Aissa, who runs commercial traffic for Vy Buss, says.
- Liquid biogas produces 90 percent lower emissions compared to diesel. Liquid natural gas produces 20 percent lower emissions compared to diesel.
- The new bus that runs on LNG/LBG will operate the Vy bus4you line Oslo – Stockholm, with stops in, among other places, Karlstad, Örebro and Västerås.
- The bus is of the Irizar i8 model from Irizar e-mobility.
- The bus is planned to go into service in 2023.
